The importance of filter management.

It is crucial to maintain your pond filter in optimal condition with minimal effort; this is how straightforward it truly is. We consistently encourage our customers to install a pressurized filter kit, as it provides very easy and uncomplicated maintenance to ensure your pond remains in excellent condition throughout the entire year.Understanding the pressurised filter process - The water gets pumped from the pond into the filter, it then passes the Uv steriliser that kills bad bacteria formed from sunlight inside the water, this then goes through the filter sponges removing dead bacteria and other pond particles then returning to the pond in a sterilised form.

What is needed is merely 3 to 4 minutes, once or twice a month, by simply turning one lever in the outlet direction indicated on the filter, and turning another handle that is attached to a shaft that extends all the way down alongside all the filter sponges. As the handle is turned, it repeatedly strikes the sponges, causing them to rotate while loosening the clogged debris that has accumulated over time from the pumped water being forced through the sponges. This process removes the harmful bacteria that have already passed through the UV sterilizer, which are then captured inside the sponges. Therefore, it is essential to keep the sponges clean.Cleaning the filter too often is also not a good practice because dead bacteria builds up inside the sponges making for better filtration finer screening water filtration from dead debris built up adding extra filtration but leaving it for too long eventually blocks up all water flow basically stopping the pumps water movement adding extra pressure onto the pump and lifting electricity consumption making extra strain onto the pump itself, this makes less water turnover, less uv exposed causing the water quality do fade and become bad - All it takes is 3 to 4 minutes once or twice a month its that easy.

Pump cleaning - It is also a crucial aspect to remove the pump from the pond and provide it with a thorough cleaning. The pump casing features fine lines throughout, which help prevent debris from entering the casing, thereby avoiding pump jamming and blockages. However, if these gaps become obstructed, it hinders water flow, placing additional strain on the pump, which can reduce its lifespan and increase electricity costs due to the extra force required by the pump. Fortunately, it is relatively simple to remove the pump and perform a quick cleaning, resulting in improved flow and efficiency.

Uv - It is recommended to replace the Uv globe annually to ensure optimal performance. Over time, the Uv globe becomes less effective and weaker, ultimately providing minimal to no benefits while still consuming the same amount of electricity, rendering its use futile. Changing the globe and cleaning the glass takes as little as 5 minutes, which is essential for achieving full Uv sterilization of the water, effectively eliminating harmful bacteria that may accumulate within the filter sponges. This process is crucial for maintaining the finer filtration mentioned earlier, which is why performing a filter backwash is of utmost importance. If the filter maintenance is carried out as mentioned this will not only save money on electricity but also save money on overall pond cleaning, you will also only need to change the sponges every 2 to 3 years rather than each year lowering the overall cost to run and maintain the pond. also the pond pump will last 10 to 20 years as long as all is kept in good order all is easy and problem free.

We aim to turn over the entire pond water volume once each hour. If all components are well-maintained and routinely inspected, your pond will consistently be in outstanding condition and devoid of complications. It is genuinely that easy.

If we undertake a cleaning of your pond and set up one of our filter kits, along with your subscription to our maintenance plan, we will extend an ongoing warranty for your filter/pump kit. The service plan entails a monthly visit to perform standard backwashing and checkups. When it becomes necessary to replace the UV and sponge, there will be no extra costs incurred, as this is included in the monthly maintenance fee.
